If you think improv movement is just for those theater people, think again-- it's one of the best tools I know to expand mental/emotional capacity. Listen & practice along.
I really enjoyed this episode Laura. Improv is a word that is used frequently but never explained fully and assumed to be free spontaneous movement which can be intimidating causing you to feel inhibited.
I liked the task idea of movement with a prompt that you interpret with your own body. I also liked how the body responded to the movement prompt and how the movement took over the body in its own rhythmic way. Very empowering.
Thanks so much, Anne! I completely hear you on that "free spontaneous movement"-- what could be more overwhelming? 🤣 I'm so glad you found it empowering to work with this simple task-- I am often blown away by how much information I can uncover about myself and my body with a simple task like this. Appreciate your reading and commenting so much!
